About

Dr.-Ing. Zhao Ren is a Research Associate advised by Prof. Tanja Schultz at the Cognitive Systems Lab, University of Bremen, Germany. Before this, she worked as a Research Associate supervised by Prof. Wolfgang Nejdl in L3S Research Center, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany. She received her doctoral degree supervised by Prof. Björn W. Schuller in the Embedded Intelligence for Health Care and Wellbeing (EIHW), University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2022. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science and Technology from the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), China, in 2013 and 2017, respectively.

Her research interests mainly lie in transfer learning, explainable AI, adversarial attacks, and other deep learning techniques for the computer audition applications in healthcare and wellbeing. She has (co-)authored 40+ publications in peer-reviewed book chapters, journals, and conference proceedings, which have received 1,500+ citations (h-index 19).

She regularly reviews many journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing, and IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, and conferences, like ICASSP, IJCNN, and EUSIPCO.
